Here are the 2 new recipes I juiced today for my Juice Cleanse. I’ll post new recipes each day. I’ve shared the health benefits with each recipe:
GREEN AND CLEAN (Makes 32 ounces of juice)
1 bunch cilantro
1 bunch dandelion greens
1 lime, cut off top and bottom of peel but leave some on the sides to gain the valuable micronutrients found in the peel
3 Granny Smith apples
3 stalks of celery
1/3 English cucumber
2 inch piece of fresh ginger
Cilantro helps remove heavy metals from the body and dandelion greens support the liver. And they taste great together. I often use them both in a green smoothie.
LIVER HAPPINESS (Makes 32 ounces of juices)
1 Granny Smith apple
3/4 bunch red kale
1/2 red pepper, seeded
1/2 English cucumber
1/3 bulb of fennel
1 lime, cut off top and bottom of peel
6 carrots
2 stalks of celery
1/2 medium beet
2 inch piece of fresh ginger
Beet is a wonderful liver cleanse when juiced. More isn’t better, however, because for some people too much beet can make you feel queazy due to beet’s power to detox. Also, ginger is a great digestive aid and warms the body. Juicing tends to cool the body, so it’s great to add ginger or a whisper of cayenne pepper to gain some heat.
Enjoy this life giving food.
To your Amazing Health,
Connie
Dear Connie;
Thank you so much for sharing your recipes.
My brother is here for the weekend to celebrate his 60th birthday. He lives a tough life. I have to share a funny story. I had gone to bed and he was doing work on his computer for the contract work he does. He is a night owl and was looking for snacks. Couldn’t find anything that suited him ans laughed as he said to me “your pantry is way too healthy!” A great acknowledgement to me of how far Steven and I have come, even if there are periods when we have slips.
I am ever greatful for your wisdom of food and your generous sharing of that wisdom.
Much love Wendi
