Water Fast — Third Day

Today is a new experience. I’m very, very quiet within and there is less energy. I’m happy to be in my room writing on the computer. And I had a brief nap around 4 o’clock.

I cooked a variety of foods for 3 people today, and there was no hunger at all. It surprises me that I don’t experience any hunger. As I reflect on the relationship between hunger and what I eat, I see that much of what I eat and when I eat comes from routine rather than hunger. That’s very interesting. So now, when I eat a meal I feel like I’m more at choice and I’ll only eat to the extent that I need to be satisfied and not from habit or routine. I’ll be much more aware.

The red spots on my skin were almost gone today. We’ll see what tomorrow brings. I’m wondering if they are from something in the water we are drinking, even though it is purified water. Tomorrow I’ll buy bottled spring water and drink it for a few days to see if that makes a difference. It is time to investigate further and water is the only thing I’m still ingesting.

I’m pleased to have done this fast and also happy that today is the last day. My energy is quite subdued, and tomorrow morning fresh juice should perk me up. Also recipes  will appear in tomorrow’s post.

To Your Amazing Health,

Connie

  1. Wow how amazing that you were doing a water fast. I just tried to do one mysel 🙂 I bought the book from Dr. Fuhrmann on fasting yesterday, when I was already juice fasting for one day and then I decided to water fast because I was so inspired by what was written in his book. But then I felt so very weak this morning that I started to drink juice again because I wanted to do some things. I have stopped the fast now and I see that it has really been helpful for my asthma and allergies.

Your blog post inspired me to try it out again. Do you also think it is benefical to do a water fast for only one or two days? Do you feel it is fine to start a water fast whenever I feel like it? Maybe I do another water fast in one or two days.

Thank you for sharing all of your experience with all of us Connie. I appreciate so much the work you are doing. More than I can tell with words. Are you and Bill still in Bolinas? Do you plan to live there long term?

    So much love to you.

    • Dearest Julien,
I love your courage and willingness to try new things. Water fasting can be tricky, and best to do it very short term unless using a doctor to monitor your electrolytes. Not great to do a water fast very often. Dr. Joel Furhman talks about how often to do a water fast, you might enjoy looking that up. You tried a one day fast and can try that again if you feel to. Or just enjoy juice fasting. The main thing is listen to your body and its signals.

Yes we plan to be in Bolinas long term?

      So much love to you,
      Connie

      • Dear Connie,
thank you for answering my questions so perfectly. I will also look up again what Dr. Fuhrmann says. I am so happy you and Bill are in Bolinas 🙂 Will I see you for in the summer gathering?

        So much love to you!
