Keep It Simple

· Blog

One of the things we've loved about our 30-years of helping people restore their health and lose weight naturally is how simple the message is. There's no need for calorie counting or portion control, analysis of protein intake or types of fat. Again and again we've seen that if we eat a wide variety of organic, High Nutrient Dense (HND) whole foods, our bodies take care of the rest.

It's like we're born with a blueprint to thrive. I think our DNA may be that blueprint, and that's in every cell of our bodies. So, in a way, we've got it made... as long as we provide the right materials (food) for the blueprint to be followed.

When we stray from that simple formula of organic, HND whole foods, our bodies struggle and show us with the symptoms so common today of chronic disease. High blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, and more.

It's like building a 30-story skyscraper from an exquisite blueprint but using inferior materials. It may look great for a while, but it breaks down under the stress of high winds or an earthquake or just plain age. Without the right building blocks, how can it be resilient and strong over time?

But if we keep it simple, using the best quality materials to follow the blueprint, the results are fabulous, long term and with little maintenance needed.

Join us to hear more.

The other piece that's important to keep simple if we want to thrive and not experience a lot of stress in our lives is to realize that our experience in life is always a reflection of our thoughts. We've mentioned before that we're always feeling our moment to moment thinking.

Along these lines, we recently heard a colleague say that there's only one problem in life. Meaning that all the situations in our lives that we call problems arise from only one source: that we innocently believe the thoughts that we have to be true.

Like what a problem it used to be for me when I would get cut off in traffic. I would get so upset. And looking at it now, I see that the upset, source of the "problem", was created by me believing the thoughts I was telling myself about the other driver. "He's an idiot" or "He can't drive, he could have killed me."

None of that that I was thinking there is what happened. None of what I was thinking do I know to be true. But in the moment, I believed it was true and from that belief I was upset.

We're seeing that there's a lot of truth to the fact that our inner experience is created by believing the thoughts that we're having. So, there's one simple solution to all the problems that I experience in my life: don't believe the thoughts that I'm having when I feel upset.

The way we do that is to pause when we feel a negative feeling come up. By pausing for a moment in the midst of an upset, it can be like putting a snow globe down.

When we stop shaking a snow globe up, it settles down by its very nature. And when we stop believing our negative, judgemental thinking, our mind settles down by its nature.

With this, I often see how my experience of the situation being a problem was in fact my creation. When my mind settles, the situation is no longer seen as a problem, but simply a situation that occurred. And I handle the situation so much better from that state of mind.

So, simple, simple. The more I keep it simple with what I eat and the more I keep it simple with how I relate to life, the healthier and happier I am. Give it a try and let us know how it is for you.
