It's Thanksgiving today here in Canada and we were out harvesting at the farm where we volunteer. We were picking tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, string beans and grapes. Picking grapes especially, ducking in among the vines and discovering the bunches of grapes, I became very aware, as I took deep breaths, that I was breathing in all of nature. I was seeing how my oneness with all of creation is so alive and available in every breath and in every moment. And the more I experience this connection with life, the healthier I become.
The recipe today is a salsa made of all the goodies from the farm. I am serving it with black lentils, mixing it into the lentils after they are cooked for a Mexican taste. This takes the delicious taste of the lentils and lifts it with the sweet, pungent taste of the salsa.

Farm Goodness Salsa
- 1/2 small onion, diced fine
- 1 large garlic clove, minced
- 30 cherry tomatoes, cut in half
- 2 large tomatoes, cut in small cubes
- 1 red pepper, diced
- 1 Jalapeno, finely diced
- 1 Habanero pepper, very, very finely diced
- 4 sprigs of cilantro, cut fine with a scissor
- 1 lime, juiced
- Ground black pepper to taste
